Rania Elbashier

Part time Outreach Officer

Rania is a part-time Outreach Officer at Amour Destiné. She provides practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse, harmful practices, and trauma, helping them access services and support within their communities.


Rania has extensive experience supporting survivors of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) from working at the international charity FORWARD UK and, as an Arabic speaker, helps reduce language barriers for women seeking support. She also facilitates our free weekly drop-in sessions, providing advice, guidance, and a welcoming space for women affected by harm and abuse.

Aisha

Part Time Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA)

Aisha works for us on a part time-freelance basis as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) with extensive experience in the domestic abuse and criminal justice sectors.

Alongside her role with Amour Destiné, she works as a Manager with the Drive Partnership, bringing a wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise to her practice. Aisha supports survivors whose perpetrators are engaged with the Drive Partnership across London, helping them to understand risk, strengthen safety planning, and access the support they need. With a professional background in Probation and significant leadership experience within domestic abuse services, she provides informed, trauma-informed, and survivor-centred support to women experiencing complex and high-risk situations.

Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA)

Natalie is a qualified children and families Social Worker whose expertise is Leaving Care, Youth Mental Health First Aid and supporting those in the LGBTQ+ community. Natalie has a Masters in Women and Child Abuse studies and has a working background in Domestic abuse, including trafficking and cultural harmful practices. She has just embarked on a fully funded PhD. 
 
She supports women and girls who are care experienced, access our advocacy service at risk of or experiencing any forms of cultural harmful practices, domestic abuse or sexual violence. Advocating for reclaiming justice, fighting against oppression and unconscious bias, who often face discrimination due to a lack of cultural competency within institutions. which poses greater risks and difficulties to accessing services.

Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA)

Olubukola is an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) with a background in Mental Health as a practitioner, who is passionate about helping women who are victims of Domestic Violence Abuse with everything they need to become safe and rebuild their life.
 
She supports women who are engaged with our advocacy service with 1:1 Support, to improve the quality and access to healthy relationship educational services for women and girls affected by cultural harmful practices, domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.
You can survive this, and once you have , your life can begin again, and you'll realise how good life can be and that you can survive anything!

Allison Ross-John

Children & Young Persons Trainee Counsellor

Allison Ross-John is a Senior Children’s Rights Officer based in London, who is passionate about championing the rights and wellbeing of children and young people in care.  She brings a strong foundation in advocacy, justice, and safeguarding, and is known for her enthusiasm, clarity, and compassionate approach, especially when supporting vulnerable individuals navigating complex care systems.

Alongside her work, Allison is deeply committed to her journey toward becoming a therapist.  She believes in the power of healing through connection, reflection, and creating safe spaces.  Her approach is rooted in empathy and a deep respect for each person’s story.  In multi-agency settings, she’s recognised for her thoughtful communication and collaborative spirit.

Outside of work, Allison finds inspiration in creativity, emotional growth, and the kind of listening that allows people to feel truly seen and heard.

Hodan Adan Haji Omer

Counsellor

Hodan is a BACP certified counsellor and who supports women who are engaged with our advocacy service with 1:1 counselling Support, to improve the quality and access to wellbeing services for women and girls affected by mental health challenges.

Originally trained in the person-centred approach. Over time, her work has evolved into an integrative style, allowing her to tailor her approach to meet each client’s unique needs. She works primarily with women and young people, offering 1:1 counselling sessions in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space.

Hodan believes that clients are the experts of their own lives. Together, she and her clients create a space for growth, self-discovery, and empowerment , a space where individuals can develop greater self-understanding and move toward positive change at their own pace.

Isatu is a Social Anthropologist graduate from the University of Essex and the author of The Power of Perseverance and Resilience navigating Forster care, abandonment, and abuse

Isatu is passionate about sharing the importance of having a positive mindset, knowing your identity, and achieving your purpose all through perseverance and resilience. All character traits that she believes can be developed. 

Isatu represents Amour Destiné to improve the quality and access to Harmful Practice, Domestic/Sexual Abuse and wellbeing educational services for care experienced women and girls.

Having grown up In foster care without the support of my parents. I have dedicated my life to helping other young people like myself to continue persevering and to know that the struggles that they experience are just stepping stones that lead them to the greatness that they have been called to.

Youth Ambassador

Starr is Amour Destiné’s Youth Ambassador and plays an important role in shaping activities and opportunities for young people. She brings creativity, energy, and fresh ideas to help make our programmes engaging, fun, and meaningful.

Starr works closely with the Outreach Team, supporting the delivery of workshops and community activities for young people across the boroughs we serve. She helps ensure young people’s voices are heard and reflected in our services.

As part of an alternative school arrangement, Starr is also developing her administrative and professional skills through hands-on experience with the organisation, building confidence and gaining valuable experience for her future aspirations.

Amour Destiné Ambassador

Melica is an Amour Destiné’s Ambassadors and works closely with our Outreach Team across the boroughs we serve. She regularly attends community events, workshops, and awareness-raising activities, helping to connect with women and communities who may benefit from our services. Through her approachable and engaging presence, Melica helps build relationships, raise awareness of our work, and ensure women know where they can access support.

Sanata Yago is an Amour Destiné Ambassador, survivor and passionate advocate for change. She wishes to empower others to break the silence and rebuild their lives. As an Ambassador, Sanata uses her voice to raise awareness, promote education on healthy relationships and support initiatives that provide safety and hope for migrant victims.
 
Her journey stands as a powerful reminder that healing is possible and that every survivor deserves to be seen, heard and believed.

Amour Destiné Ambassador

Mariam is an Ambassador at Amour Destiné and is passionate about improving the experiences of families navigating the family court system. As a fluent Bengali speaker, she helps to engage and connect with women from diverse communities, ensuring they can access information and support in a way that feels accessible and culturally relevant.

Drawing on her lived experience and commitment to positive change, Mariam actively co-designs group discussions and engagement activities with other survivors at Amour Destiné. Through this work, she helps amplify survivor voices and contributes to improving the support provided by local and national agencies, and the family courts for women and families affected by abuse and adversity.
